Recycle, Recycle, Recycle

I can't stand the assholes who throw away paper and cans/bottles in the trash.

Is it really that hard to just put it in the recycling bin right next to it, and help save the planet?!?  Geeeez.

Secret # 2300

1) 6/2/09 - Second

2) 6/2/09 - Look into how things are recycled. In certain situations the total cost (including effect on the environment) is greater for recycling than making something new. Some of us actually have our reasons for throwing stuff away rather than recycling it.

3) 6/2/09 - Screw the Environment

4) 6/2/09 - are you kidding me? just because something costs less money doesnt mean its right. i can't believe you just said that. who cares if it costs more? the cost of our planet's health is far more important! just fucking recycle!

5) 6/2/09 - Going to have to support comment #2. I'm sorry that OP doesn't understand the financial and environmental costs incurred by recycling plants, but they are not much different from production plants. They give off the same sorts of dangerous emissions as many other sorts of factories, etc. You're no better off for recycling than you are simply throwing something away.

6) 6/2/09 - 2nd commenter: when it comes to cost efficiency vs. environment, I'd pick environment a million times over.

7) 6/2/09 - Screw the environment? Are you serious guy? What an idiot

8) 6/2/09 - For people who perpetuate the "it's cheaper to throw stuff away" argument, I'm really wondering where you are finding your research. It just seems intuitive that a tree is more difficult to process and then replace in Nature, than re-using a bunch of computer paper. The $ sign is an inaccurate value counter when it comes to the environment.

9) 6/5/09 - As someone who works on campus, I can tell you that 90% of the time the recycling gets thrown in the same dumpster as the trash. People sort it at processing plants anyways.

10) 6/5/09 - it's funny how people are so vehement about being nice to the environment and look at how this person treats people!? niiiceee. . . .

11) 6/9/09 - Yeah that's right SCREW THE ENVIRONMENT! It's overrated. Global Warming? Please, what a hoax. It's June and high temperatures are only in the 70's. Until it's 90 degrees in the middle of January, I will not believe it.

12) 6/12/09 - to comment 11: that's WEATHER, not climate change

13) 6/13/09 - to comment 11: Weather is a HUGE part of climate change! "Definition of Climate Change: is any long-term change in the patterns of average weather of a specific region or the Earth as a whole". Know what you're talking about before you start spewing information.

14) 6/14/09 - to comment 13: high temperatures in the 70s in June of this year is called WEATHER. 90 degrees in january can also be considered WEATHER. And, following your correct definition of climate change, you're right, it's not until you look at the LONG TERM changes that you can adequately come to a conclusion. Citing that it's unusually cold this month is an insufficient and moot point to pick at. Conversely, seeing that it's 90 degrees in January one year is also a poor way of showing climate change. It IS consistent change over a period of time. I agree that this consistent change is still debatable and unclear, but I think it's highly irresponsible to not do anything in the face of the current data we do have.

15) 6/17/09 - You people need to get a life and quit arguing on Buffsecret. This is a disgrace to humanity.
